NRCan funding to aid in ISO Energy Management Systems Standard implementation

May 30, 2019 | By Jillian Morgan

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is providing financial assistance to help industrial, commercial and institutional facilities implement the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard.

The funding covers up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $40,000 per facility. The maximum contribution to an organization or group of affiliates is $200,000 per fiscal year.

To be eligible, industrial facilities must be registered as CIPEC (Canadian Industry Partnership for Energy Conservation) Leaders, and commercial and institutional buildings must be registered with the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking tool.

Proposals must be accepted by NRCan before any work begins. Those interested can e-mail NRCan to request a project proposal template. www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy/efficiency/industry/energy-management/20405
