Armstrong introduces cloud management service for Fire Pumps

April 2, 2024 | By HPAC Magazine

Fire Manager is a cloud-based service that enables active performance management of Armstrong's Design Envelope Fire Pumps.

Armstrong’s Design Envelope Fire Pump, a factory-built integrated fire pump unit consisting of pump, driver, and variable speed control unit, configured to maintain the set pressure until the maximum pump brake horsepower is reached while acting as a variable speed pressure limiting control and/or a variable speed suction limiting control.

Armstrong Fluid Technology has launched Fire Manager, a cloud-based service that enables active performance management in its Design Envelope Fire Pumps.

The new service tracks and manages pump performance and proactively provides diagnostic warnings and automated reports to help customers make informed decisions and take action to deliver optimal fire safety system performance.

Specifically, the Fire Manager service records data points on municipal supply pressure, makes digital recordings of pump operation and related data, provides pump analytics and insights to support condition-based maintenance, and provides timely notifications and alerts for any impending issues in pump performance.

Together, these performance metrics provide increased reliability and safety supported by real-time and historic data.

“When combined with Armstrong’s self-regulating, variable speed fire pumps, Fire Manger helps deliver several unique points of value to fire-safety professionals, ” says Mike DeMille, global offering manager, fire products with Armstrong.

In addition to providing new safety benefits, Armstrong’s Design Envelope Fire Pumps hold the distinction of being the first self-regulating variable-speed fire pumps to meet NFPA-20 (2019 Edition), Section 4.8 standards.
