Networking opportunity a hit with PVF pros

With more than 5.7 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of water to be moved, controlled and regulated, it is not likely that there could be a more appealing place for pipe, valve and fitting suppliers and manufacturers to spend an afternoon than Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. From the spectacular exhibits of nearly 16 000 marine animals, to the endless stretches of pipe, countless couplings, pumps and valves, members of the Industrial Pipe, Valves & Fittings Council (IPVF) and guests were impressed by the site visit on May 22 in downtown Toronto.

As Kevin O’Reilly noted in his opening remarks at the luncheon prior to the tour, it can be a challenge engaging people and this was an impressive turnout. He announced that IPVF is planning a site visit to the Suncor facility in Fort McMurray, AB in the fall. “Our goal is to be less Ontario-centric,” noted O’Reilly. He added that CIPH members from AB would be invited to join the one-day event. Details are to be announced.
